Designations of models of motorcycles of Harley-Davidson
At the production Harley-Davidsn line there are three main groups of models (differing as the engine), it: XL-Sportster, VRSC and Big Twin. On the basis of these groups five families of models of motorcycles are formed:
Sportster (engine displacement – 883 or 1200 cм):
XL-Experimental Lightweight;
C-Custom;
R-Roadster;
L-Low.
Dyna (engine displacement – 1450 or 1584 cм):
F-Big Twin;
X-forward wheel 19” or 21”, footboards;
D-DYNA;
C-Custom;
X-Sport;
L-Low;
WG-Wide Glide.
Softail (engine displacement – 1450 or 1584 cм):
F-Big Twin;
X-forward wheel 19” or 21”, thin feathers of the fork, footboard;
L-forward wheel 16”, the fork in Touring style (thick feathers), platforms for feet;
ST-Softail;
B-Night Train;
F-Fat Boy;
N-Deluxe;
D-Deuce;
SC-Springer Classic;
C-Classic.
Touring (engine displacement – 1450 or 1584 cм):
F-Big Twin;
L-forward wheel 16”, the fork in Turing style (thick feathers), platforms for feet;
H-Tourer (Highway);
R-Road King;
T-Tour Pack;
S-Custom;
C-Classic;
U-Ultra.
VRSC (engine displacement of-1130 or 1250 cм):
V-V-Twin;
R-Racing;
S-Street;
C-Custom;
A-A Series;
R-Roadster;
D-Dragster;
W-Wide;
X-Special or Limited Editin
As the general additional letters in model designation:
I–existence of electronic system of injection of fuel.
SE – the limited series performed by Screamin’ Eagle
